Political visit to Rösrath: Minister Mona Neubaur tours Cleansort

Mona Neubaur, Minister of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy, as well as Deputy Minister-President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited the Cleansort facility in Rösrath together with Alexander Bonde, Secretary General of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), and Ulf Jacob (DBU).

The discussion focused on how technological innovation and industrial climate protection can work together in North Rhine-Westphalia as a business hub. Cleansort develops laser-based sorting machines (LIBS—Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) that enable more precise separation of metals and thus make an important contribution to the circular economy.

The DBU has been supporting Cleansort for several years now as a funding provider and partner in its efforts to further develop industrial recycling of recyclable materials.
